Battle of the Books Information
Students at McLean are invited to participate in our campus Battle of the Books. This is a great opportunity for your child to read amazing books from our school library, design questions for their team to practice with, and compete in the Battle of the Books!
It all starts by signing & returning the attached pledge by October 6, 2017.
Students are able to check out the listed books from the library. Students are required to read six books between October and the end of 2017. Students are encouraged to create questions and turn them in to Mrs. Starcher while reading the books. These questions will be used by the teams for practice sessions to prepare for the campus competition.
Students will begin practicing after we return from Thanksgiving break. The Battle of the Books school competition will be held in January. Additional information will be sent out as we get closer to the event.
The top 7th and 8th grade students will go on to compete in the district Battle of the Books competition at TCU on May 23rd. McLean champions will get a new list of books to read for the district competition.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email Ms. Starcher
